The propagation speed, shape and stability of the rim generated by a liquid-curtain breakup are studied. In experiment, liquid curtain surrounded slot die, edge guides surface roller breaks at contact point between guide in low-Weber-number range, propagates horizontal direction. Except for initial time, is almost straight has nearly constant speed. For an Ohnesorge number much smaller than 1, unevenness occurs on droplets separate from it. When order unity, becomes convex vertically downward, lump flows down. shape, speed discussed analysing equation proposed Entov & Yarin ( J. Fluid Mech. , vol. 140, 1984, pp. 91–111). It shown that volume flow rate condition die exit important to explain rim.
